ORYX GTL and Qatar University have announced in a joint press conference, their collaboration in founding the Academic Chair for the Mechanical Engineering Department, in the framework of collaboration in the field of gas operations and production, and through research, studies and consultancy held by both parties.

One of the highest goals which ORYX GTL strives for through this agreement, is to offer support to Qatar University, in order to graduate qualified Qatari students and be employed in the future within the company. This cooperation is also within ORYX GTL’s commitment to the Qatarization strategy.

It is worth mentioning that ORYX GTL, a leading Qatari company in the industry of Gas to Liquids, has played a significant role in making Qatar the GTL Capital of the world, and for this purpose it always seeks to develop Qatari staff and promote them to assume the highest positions.

The agreement was signed in Qatar university by both, the CEO of ORYX GTL, Mr.Abdulrahman Bin Mohammad Al Suwaidi, and the President of Qatar University, Dr. Sheikha Bint Abdullah Al Misnad, and under this Agreement shall be appointed a Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Qatar University, for an initial period of three years, throughout which,he would develop and implement programs of research and consultancy, and establish several workshops, and provide technical advice in engineering education, and supervision of summer training activities, in addition to other scientific activities which commensurate with the needs of ORYX GTL.
ORYX GTL is financing this academic post, which will focus on the development of the University's programs in the field of mechanical engineering, and support the theoretical practice, provided to the students by the university, through the practical practice, which will be provided by ORYX GTL to the students, by means of summer training and workshops, and will develop their practical perception, which would enable them to easily engage in work.

Dr. Sheikha Abdullah Al Misnad, President of the Qatar University, said that the new Academic Chair in the Mechanical Engineering Department is another sign of the close relationship that links Qatar University and government sectors in the country. And the University will be able through this Academic Chair, to support ORYX GTL in the development of infrastructure and scientific research in the field of oil and gas; one of the top priorities of scientific research in the State of Qatar.

شركة أوريكس جي تي ال تأسس كرسي الأستاذية في مجال الهندسة الميكانيكية

أعلن كل من شركة أوريكس لتحويل الغاز الى سوائل المحدودة (أوريكس جي تي ال) وجامعة قطر في مؤتمر صحفي، تعاونهما لتأسيس كرسي الأستاذية في مجال الهندسة الميكانيكية وذلك ضمن إطارالتعاون في مجال العمليات والانتاج في قطاع الغاز، وذلك من خلال الابحاث والدراسات والاستشارات التي سيقوم بها الطرفان.

وأحد اسمى الاهداف التي تسعى شركة أوريكس جي تي ال الى تحقيقها من خلال هذا الاتفاق هو تقديم الدعم الى جامعة قطر من أجل تخريج طلاب قطريين مؤهلين للعمل في الشركة.ويأتي هذا التعاون ضمن التزام شركة أوريكس جي تي ال باستراتيجية تقطير الوظائف في قطر تحت قيادة حضرة صاحب السمو أمير البلاد المفدى الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني ، والعمل على تحقيق رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.

ووقع الاتفاقية بجامعة قطر كل من، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة أوريكس جي تي ال السيد/عبدالرحمن بن محمد السويدي، ورئيس جامعة قطر الدكتورة/ شيخة بنت عبدالله المسند، وسيتم بموجب هذا الاتفاقتعيين عميداً لكلية الهندسة الميكانيكية بجامعة قطر، لفترة أولية مدتها ثلاث سنوات، سيقوم من خلالها بوضع وتنفيذ برامج بحوث واستشارات، واقامة العديد من ورش العمل، وتقديم استشارات فنية في التعليم الهندسي، والإشراف على انشطة التدريب الصيفي، بالإضافة الى انشطة علمية اخرى تتناسب مع احتياجات شركة أوريكس جي تي ال.

وتقوم شركة أوريكس جي تي ال بتمويل هذا المنصب الأكاديمي الذي سيركز علي تطوير برامج الجامعة في مجال الهندسة الميكانيكية، ودعم الجانب النظري الذي يتلقاه الطالب عن طريق الجامعة بالجانب العملي والذي ستقدمه شركة أوريكس جي تي ال للطالب من خلال التدريبات الصيفية وورش العمل، والتي ستنمي الإدراك العملي لدى الطالب، مما سيمكنه من سهولة الإنخراط في العمل.

وقالت الدكتورة شيخة عبدالله المسند رئيس جامعة قطر إن كرسي الأستاذية الجديد في قسم الهندسة الميكانيكية يعد علامة أخرى للعلاقة الوثيقة التي تربط ما بين جامعة قطر والقطاعات الحكومية في الدولة. وسوف تتمكن الجامعة من خلال هذا الكرسي من دعم شركة أوريكس جي تي ال في تطوير البنية الأساسية والبحث العلمي في مجال النفط والغاز إحدى أولويات البحث العلمي في دولة قطر .
